The purpose of this study was to synthesize findings of intervention studies on pivotal response training(PRT) for children with autism spectrum disorders(ASD). A total of 24 articles were selected by the criteria for this synthesis and were analyzed. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the mostly targeted research subjects were babyhood and childhood children with autistic disorders; The research design which was prevalent was single-subject design; Parent-mediated PRT was prevalent and peer-mediated PRT was increased; Pivotal responses that were intervened included motivation, multiple cues, self management, and self-initiation; PRT procedures which were most research applied vary tasks, reinforce attempts and use natural reinforcers. Peers and parents were instructed by modeling, prompting, shaping based on ABA; The independent variables were improved rapidly and generalized and maintained. Based on the result, the implication for research on PRT for autistic people were discussed, and future study issues were recommended.
